Let's go!

Dear Parents/Carers,

Update Re: Covid 19

Following the latest Government advice we would like to confirm that we will be remaining open. The following procedures will be now be in place with immediate effect:

If ANY member of your household has a cough and/or fever then you must ALL self-isolate for 14 days

  • Please do not send your child into Pre-School if they have a temperature of 37.8 or above. Children that develop a temperature during their session will need to be collected immediately. Children and the household should remain at home for 14 days.
  • Please do not send your child into Pre-School if they have a new cough. Children and the household should remain at home for 14 days.
  • We are asking all children to wash their hands on entering the setting and we will ensure that they also wash them before leaving.

The government has issued advice for people with underlying medical conditions. If your child has any underlying medical conditions including asthma, it is important that they are protected from the virus by staying at home even if they are not displaying any symptoms.

Medical conditions whereby staff and pupils should stay at home include:

  • chronic (long-term) respiratory diseases, such as asthma (that requires an inhaled or tablet steroid treatment, or has led to hospital admission in the past)
  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema or bronchitis
  • chronic heart disease, such as heart failure
  • chronic kidney disease
  • chronic liver disease, such as hepatitis
  • chronic neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), a learning disability or cerebral palsy
  • diabetes
  • problems with your spleen – for example, sickle cell disease or if you have had your spleen removed
  • a weakened immune system as the result of conditions such as HIV and AIDS, or medicines such as steroid tablets or chemotherapy
  • being seriously overweight (a BMI of 40 or above)

We continue with our daily cleaning routine and vigilant hand washing procedures. We are implementing deep cleaning routines. We want to reassure everyone we are doing everything we can to try and keep everyone who visits our setting safe.

We appreciate that these new measures may cause some inconvenience to parents, but during these uncertain times we have to follow government advice, safeguard children and staff and do everything we can to contain this disease.
